Airport locked down due to bubble wrap

On Wednesday, the Kirkland Air Force Base was put on lockdown due to three loud noises that resembled gunshots.  The base was instantly put on lockdown, as were three elementary schools and a VA hospital in the area.

A base spokesperson recently told the press that the alarm was, indeed, false.  The loud banging noises were caused by someone popping heavy duty bubble wrap.

Kind of a short news story today, but that really is all there is to it.  The Air Force called 911 because somebody popped bubble wrap.  Basically, they reacted the same way my mom’s dog does whenever there’s thunder outside.

Better safe than sorry, I guess?  Still…  bubble wrap?  Really?
