Man Loses 140lbs. on Chik-Fil-A Diet

It’s on the internet, so it has to be true!

Delicious? Definitely! Affordable? Sure. Readily available? Yes, except for Sundays when I’m really wanting it!!!

Of all the terms to describe Chick-Fil-A, “healthy” is not at the top of my list. However, for a former Texas A&M student now living in Denver, the fast food restaurant helped him lose 140 pounds!

Alton Ward, born and raised in Texas, was what I think we could safely label a “snackaholic.” According to Business Insider, he weighed 335 lbs. by the age of 17. He’d wanted to lose weight most of his life, but none of the diets he’d tried had worked. Leaving for college, however, gave him another opportunity.

Ward was a big fan of Chick-Fil-A (as many people are.) The fact that there was/still is a restaurant on A&M’s campus gave him even easier access to their food. Planning an exercise regimen for himself, and eating Chick-Fil-A for several meals a week, he started trying to lose weight.

Business Insider reports: For breakfast, he would have two boiled eggs with oatmeal. Then if he went to Chick-fil-A for lunch, he would have a grilled chicken wrap. When it was colder, he’d get soup. He’d often get salads, but with a little bit of ranch dressing on the side. Some days, he would eat Chick-fil-A for lunch and dinner.

That — coupled with a strength and cardio plan — helped him lose 140 pounds in 11 and a half months.

“I wouldn’t say all of it is Chick-fil-A, because I have to make my own decisions,” he said, but noted that Chick-Fil-A had “tasty, healthy options that worked for me and…my palate.”

And as you can see by these before and after photos, it worked!

That was over four years ago. Ward currently lives in Denver and still goes to Chick-Fil-A, where he receives a free meal once a month for being a loyal customer.

So, what’s the moral of the story? Counting calories and regular exercise leads to a healthy lifestyle? …Nah! Chick-Fil-A makes you lose weight! That’s the key! Go out and buy two dozen boxes of nuggets, you deserve it! It’s healthy, so don’t feel guilty!
