North Korea Bans Sarcasm

I’m sure that will work!

Leader of North Korea and evil Pillsbury Dough Boy Kim Jong-un has forbidden his people from making sarcastic comments towards him or the regime. He seems to fear that people will only agree with him “ironically” since, as we all know, North Korea is full of sarcastic hipsters.

The Independent reports:

Even indirect criticism of the authoritarian government has been banned, Asian media reported.

Residents were warned against criticising the state in a series of mass meetings held by functionaries across the country.

“One state security official personally organised a meeting to alert local residents to potential ‘hostile actions’ by internal rebellious elements,” a source in Jagang Province told Radio Free Asia’s Korean Service.
“The main point of the lecture was ‘Keep your mouths shut.’”

Expressions referring to North Korea’s leader such as ““A fool who cannot see the outside world” have been banned. An important tidbit of information from this article is that North Korea has their own version of “Thanks Obama.”

That expression is, “This is all America’s fault.”

Wagon breaks down? This is all America’s fault. Get thrown into a re-education camp? This is all America’s fault. Another famine? This is all America’s fault.

I, personally, think that this is a brilliant move on Kim Jong-un’s part. How dare the disrespectful population of True Korea slander the name of their deified leader? They must learn to treat their glorious ruler with the respect he deserves! This is all America’s fault!

(By the way, Mr. Kim, that was sarcasm.)
