Next Automated Industry: Porn?

First it was the auto industry, now this? There’s some things that machines can’t recreate, you know! Where’s the heart? The quality of a product really shows when you know a person poured their blood, sweat, and tears (mostly sweat) into it!

With all the talk of “bringing jobs back,” it should be pointed out that while some jobs have been outsourced, quite a number never “left” at all! They are just currently being done by newer tech. There’s the self-checkout at Walmart. Cars are built almost entirely by machines. 3D printing is improving by leaps and bounds every day. McDonalds is experimenting with “order it yourself” machines. Technology has made human involvement in several industries unimportant. The next industry at risk, quite possibly, is the pornography industry.

Yes, the porn industry. Several experts have predicted that the recent increase in VR tech, CGI, and interactive gaming, it could be possible that the future of porn involves a much smaller number of live pornstars.

Motherboard reports: “A human won’t be able to compete in this world. A studio will be able to hire a porn actor for a thousand dollars or just rent the software and create one for less,” said Ian Pearson, a senior futurologist at the communication agency Futurizon, a former British Telecommunications engineer, and a chartered fellow of the British Computer Society.

“One option will be much like a Star Trek holodeck for your fantasy. You decide, for example, what size you want a her breasts to be, what lingerie she wears and how tall she is, ” Pearson said. “And it won’t necessarily cost very much.”

That’s right, folks! The future of your online filth rests on perfecting a near-magical science from an 80’s sci-fi show! Nerds have dreamed about having their own holodeck for decades! I’ve always wondered what poor sap got stuck cleaning up the holodeck on the Enterprise, but that’s getting off topic!

The article listed some of the ways that technology is working its way into an industry dominated by hard working women and men who don’t have any cash to tip that delivery driver… but maybe there’s another way they could pay?

Companies have produced early hologram prototypes and products such as the Microsoft HoloLens and the the Sony Ray Modler. The pornography industry—which has historically been on the forefront of new technology, from the advent of the photograph to the internet—will likely be among the first to use it.

The adult entertainment webcam platform CamSoda, for example, has plans to develop a gas mask-style device that releases smells during virtual reality experiences. And BlowCast, a virtual on-demand marketplace, lets users buy a simulated blow job from ammature cam girl.

Since I know you’re curious, the article had an image of the CamSoda gas mask:

1: That is horrifying! You’re trying to add to your spank bank, not prepare for a chemical attack! 2: Who on earth would want to know what their porn smells like?! 3: Unless you have a rather specific fetish, wouldn’t all that gear on your face kind of kill the mood?

Human beings are innovative creatures at heart. When we all unite behind a common cause, we can make technology advance by leaps and bounds! Mankind went from its first flight to landing on the moon in only 66 years. Imagine what the future holds if/when we devote our time and attention to this “noble cause!”
